Seguridad y eficacia de las vacunas contra el COVID-19 durante el periodo de gestación.

Resumen

El COVID-19 es una enfermedad provocada por el virus SARS-CoV-2, que a nivel mundial ha provocado crisis financieras, sociales y sanitarias. Aunque en el 90% de las infecciones son asintomáticas, en mujeres embarazadas se ha visto una propensión de desarrollar complicaciones graves. Y aun así, existen escasos estudios sobre vacunación en gestantes, por lo que, el propósito del estudio fue analizar la seguridad y eficacia de la vacuna COVID-19 durante este periodo. Para ello se aplicó un estudio descriptivo con un diseño documental para recopilar 30 artículos científicos en las bases como PUBMED, MEDLINE y GOOGLE ACADÉMICO. La búsqueda de información se lo hizo por medio de palabra clave como COVID-19 en el embarazo, eficacia de las vacunas para SARS-CoV-2 en mujeres embarazadas, entre otras. Como resultados se logró demostrar que las vacunas aplicadas en Ecuador son eficaces y seguras para las gestantes y sus fetos. Llegando a la conclusión de que Pfizer tiene una eficacia del 95%, AstraZeneca del 70% y CoronaVac del 50%; siendo recomendable administrarlas entre el segundo y el tercer trimestre del embarazo, sin representan ningún potencial riego para la salud de la madre o del bebé.
